Now I know how the D200 guys felt when the D300 came out.

the d200 and the d80 is out of my price range.....So if you had $600 or so to spend what kit would you get????? im on a budget here..just want a descent camera....if any of you can steer me to some deals you can find that would be very helpful and VERY AWESOME!!!

i don't have experience with Canon's, but i here great stuff from them.

2 cams both in your price range that they sell are, rebel XT's and XTI's, 400-600, with 18-55mm lens. (complete kits).

how about a nikon d70s?? i can get a deal of the camera and 18-70 lens for 500.00 bux...and a 2 year best buy warranty on it..

The D70s is the camera I just sold when I upgraded. It's a great camera and I still have the 18-70mm lens, a really well made zoom. I have no problem whatsoever recommending this camera. You'll be very happy with it's performance.

Check out the Costco website. They seem to have decent deals lately for the Nikon and Cannon DSLRs.

Also I could get this one from a craigslist ad "Nikon D40x with the 18-55mm lens for $450/obo. It is in mint condition and I am selling it so I can upgrade to the Nikon D80. I will also sell the Nikon zoom lens 55-200mm with VR for $155 or $550 total..Whats a better deal...d70s with lens for $500 and 2 year remaining warranty remaining....
