Can you guys tell me the absolute minimum size tank for a single clown knife?...as in will a 5x2x2 work?
also..which one is eventually smaller in size..the clown knife?...or the royal clown knife?

i have my 6"ck in a 60g, then im going to transfer him to my 100g, and if god makes him grow bigger, he will go to my pond. but overall hes okay in that tank u have him in. how big is ur CK??

I haven't got him yet.....he's with a friend of mine and he's says he's gonna drop him off at my place the minute i get my tank....he's about 5-6" right now...
so..a 5x2x2 will work long time?....thats about 150 gallons...

A Royal Clown Knife is the same fish as the norm, just different pattening. You do realise that these fish grow 3ft thus require a huge tank? A 5x2x2 is NOT sufficient to support these fish long term. Think of sizes around 10ftx4ftx3ft minimum.

Edwin, a 100G is just a small grow-out.

That tank can probably serve you a good 2-3 years, then he will be around 28"+ if fed properly/good water, at that point he needs a tank with a width at least 30" but then you will have to upgrade to a tank with at least a 36", in the end the best tank for a full grown clown is a 96"longx36"(or24")highx36"depth, but thats in a long time possibly 5 years in an aquarium.

so...on a last note...the tank will serve me for 3 years or so right?...
i can easily upgrade to an 8 footer then...

yea but it would be better in a tank with more width since clowns usually rest laying down on the floor most of the time.

Good news...after a long and heated argument with my folks...they agreed that another foot of tank space would not interfere with decor or whatnot...
so I'm making the tank 5x3x2 (LxWxH)
excellent..innit ?..
this should serve me well for like...5 years?...its only for a single clown...
the tanks like..225g now...

Will the ck need space?...or will 24" do?...
so my final tank size....
length..6 feet
width...3 feet
height...2 feet
that makes it what...280 or so gallons?

That should be fine unless your ck has other plans, like out growing it. But it will give you ample time to build or save for a HUGE tank for it. Good luck!
