Dumb question...but whatever...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That will be an awesome tank for him.. enjoy that guy!!!

I strongly doubt the maximum sizes of most fish.. when people say 3-4 foot+ arowana they mean there ARE arowanas reaching that size.. but as with humans most guys don't reach 8 feet.. but still..

basically, if the fish looks comfortable it probably is.. that not saying that one could hope to keep an aro in a 180 g for life.. the clown is a big fish.. 2' is NOT unusual and it has gotta be able to turn, they are real gracious swimmers and a joy to watch when given enough room.. =)

Sorry guys...should've put up an update..
the tank is 6 x 2.5 x 2.5....280 gallons give or take a gallon....he's in there with a 18" swamp eel and a 9" needlefish...he's about 5-6" himself....

i know its a waste of space...but its only temporary...i've planted the tank and its got a lotta bogwood...i'll put up pics soon...

looking forward to seeing it very much.

That would be very generous. Its rare that those get a bigger tank than 55 gallons around here.

That's not good. A tank that size would be fine for an African Knife fish, but no way can it house an Asian species of Knife fish.

try a 35 hex. I had one a while back, that I had to put him in a 75, just so he could have room!! He was 10" long, BTW

A Royal Clown Knife is the same fish as the norm, just different pattening. You do realise that these fish grow 3ft thus require a huge tank? A 5x2x2 is NOT sufficient to support these fish long term. Think of sizes around 10ftx4ftx3ft minimum.

Edwin, a 100G is just a small grow-out.

yes i know, thats why i said if god makes him alot bigger then he will transfered to my 1600g pond
