Dumb question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You might be right on both counts Neil. Maybe I should think of his potential customers but I already more or less said I wouldn't change the review depending on the refund outcome and I try to let my word be my bond, so they'll go unnamed and the review left as is. But I will definitely think differently next time because you pointed out something I hadn't really considered and that's future potential buyers. I feel bad because I'm not sure I am doing the right thing but as I said I try to stick by what I say. I just hope I'm not making the wrong call.
Stick by what you said. If anyone is interested in who the vendor was a pm is easy.

So here's the story, it's my second time dealing with a Vendor an official business not just a hobbyist. First time was in September. I ordered some fish totaling over $700. Date came up that fish where supposed to ship, no contact. So I contacted them, no response. The shipping day went by and then the delivery day and despite me reaching out a couple of times; no response. I work nights so staying up for a delivery is hard on me(something I informed the vendor during my texts) but since I wasn't sure I stayed up just in case. Finally later the day of the delivery I got a response saying the fish weren't sent out and an apology. Okay, I accepted it; I'm a fairly patient person and asked when would be the next most convenient day for the seller. They stated next Monday for Tuesday delivery, okay I thanked the gentleman.

Again the evening came on the shipping day and no contact from the seller and no notification from my FedEx account. So again I reached out to see if the fish shipped and got no response. So I stayed up again and tried contacting the vendor the next day at what I thought would be a reasonable time for their part of the country and again no response. So I stayed up again, just in case. No fish. Eventually they contacted me to say the fish didn't go out again. Okay, again I'm a patient person so again I just asked when would be the next reasonable day for them. Again the reply was Monday for Tuesday delivery. Okay, cool. I agreed that would be fine. Finally they came that following Tuesday. Cool, I thanked them and gave them a good review. I mean it's whatever, people have bad days; one offs will happen.

So I decided again to order as the fish they have are not commonly available, so again I shelled out over $700 beans. And again the same issue. Two weeks of waiting for days that the fish where to be shipped with no contact or responses to my messages until after I've lost sleep waiting for fish that never come. This last time I didn't get a response to my messages for 5 days. Again I try to be cool but I feel like canceling as when they did respond again all I got was an apology. Not like hey I'll take off $5 bucks or something to make up for my inconvenience. Am I wrong? Am I being petty? Should I cancel and ask for a refund?
I would cancel and ask for a refund. This may be the only way of teaching them that poor customer service means a loss in business, and it is not ok. I would understand if they kept you updated on changes, or at least notified you. Answering a text and letting you is just common curtesy, and doesn't cost anything. It shows a deep lack of respect for you from their side.

That only works for MFK members, that actually stumble on to this topic. Once it scrolls off to never never land, then it helps no one.

I understand giving ones word on something, it's always been a life rule to live by for me, but for something like this, I would make an exception.

It shows a deep lack of respect for you from their side.

Agreed.
