Durso Standpipes = OMFG SILENCE!!!!!

My durso is super loud. It sucks and slurps and periodically flushes (like the sound of an industrial prison toilet flushing)...

either the vent hole on your cap is too small or you have a droop in your drain line..

i looked into this, seems great and easy, but it says you need 2 bulkheads/lines in your overflow, one as a failsafe drain. what if you only have 1 bulkhead?

The herbie is just a standard overflow that is rated for less than the total flow an then a low-flow durso. I think I would just rather have a durso and leave it at that.

yeah the Durso does a great job of quieting down the overflow, but now i can hear the water going into the sump. in my new quest for extreme silence, can i simply put a gate valve on the line going into the sump and quiet it down that way?

ps: how do i get graphics in my sig??? is that a mod perk???

If you restrict the flow a bit, it won't suck in as much air.

Restricting the flow will help, but I would look at just eliminating the splashing if possible. I'll have to look at your sump and refresh myself on your setup before I can give any opinons.
