I went to a new fish store nearby and they had giant gouramies with tatoos. Some had pink polka dots, others had blue. They also had some that said I love you and other stupid stuff like that. They had an 18" white one like that and several tanks with 3-5". Of course they had the dyed and tatooed blood parrots. I left there feeling sick. I went to two more lfs and they had dyed/tatooed fish too. I guess it's all the rage. I personally won't shop at places that sell those fish. Like there aren't enough pretty fish to choose from without having to resort to that crap.

The most disturbing altered fish I've seen would have to be a dyed/tatooed heartshaped parrot or dyed/tatooed unicorn parrot. That stuff just breaks my heart.
If people didn't buy them, they wouldn't sell them. I've not personally seen the tattooed fish, thank god.
I don't have an issue with the genetically altered fish - selective breeding and all, even if DNA splicing is involved. It doens't mess with the fish, just makes 'em expensive ($4 for a orange danio and $0.49 for a normal one at petco locally). The tattoo'd fish? Never... hate it.

I like this idea only why stop at tattooing? I say we brand it on them.
If people didn't buy tattooed fish...stored wouldn't sell them. Same with hybrids (and tatooed hybrids).
On a side note, can you imagine being some poor dude in Thailand who makes 75 cents a day to tatoo Minnesota Viking logo's on fish all day? Good times!
