I have both my left and right ear pierced. My right one has become infected and is starting to bother me to the point i'm probably gona take it out. Whats the best way to get rid of an infection?

I've been reading up on what to do and some people say diffrnt things, i was just thinking of doing this.

take out the earring and soak it in peroxide, dry it off and put neosporin on the stud at the end, wash the back and front of ear with warm saltwater, then insert back into the hole.

I also know that i could be alergic to the metal, but my left ear is fine. so idk.

what would you suggest I do?

also, if i just take out the earing, and let it close up. I risk having the infection trapped in my ear, than that will cause even more problems.

use a string / thread....
put thread through ear just like you were sewing.
tied loose with small knot.
soak daily with peroxide ,pull string threw hole to keep clean and open.
wait for it to heal before removing string.
I am allergic to metal also....plastic studs or stainless surgical steel.
I wear beads.....but I am a Hippie

I would think rubbing alcohol should suffice unless it's really really infected.. You could also hydrogen peroxide that puppy..

I don't think letting it heal will trap the infection either. Mine have been peirced forever, never had a problem..

The best thing not to do, is to take out the piercing. Letting the piercing heal with the infection causes the infection to enter the body and can become more harmful then it already is. I would clean it once a day for a week with unscented antibacterial soap.

My right one I did with a saftey pin. soaked my ear, the saftey pin, and the earing in poroxide for 10 mins before I stuck it thru. earing slipped right in. the right ear i had to use a thumb tack ( dumb idea... )

no way in hell am I going to a doctor, not again. hate them... was in the hospital for 1 week...

You're getting no sympathy from me... When I get my ear ring I'm getting it done professionally, and I bet it's going to cane because It's going through cartridge... sorry dude, lol.
