don't know what else to bring in, any suggestions? we need to move above and beyond, cichlas are cool, but there are more fish besides that out there!

I know you said there are other fish out there besides Cichla, but someCichla orinocensis from the Rio Orinoco would be super awesome!

New species of Crenicichla.

Species of Hassar catfish.

Metynnis sp. Onigiri
Metynnis fasciatus
~ The REAL ones.

Biotoecus opercularis

Albino Aba Aba

Herichthys steindachneri

Retroculus xinguensis

Platycephalus indicus

Planiloricaria cryptodon

New species of Crenicichla. <---like what? Tigrinnum? celidochilus?

Species of Hassar catfish. <--they don't sell, I had to nearly flush them

Metynnis sp. Onigiri
Metynnis fasciatus ~ The REAL ones. <---yeah these are neat, I'm on the look out for rare characins, also Tometes trilobetes

Biotoecus opercularis <---pretty cool, but I'm not the person to bring them in probably.

Albino Aba Aba <--had a pied one, that died after a few months, I drowned it! I do like this fish, but they are also captive breeding them in Asia I believe, so we should see some come from the farms sooner or later....

Herichthys steindachneri <---think Seiichi had some in Japan right? It may be rare, but many of the fish in this genus are just so non descript, all with same body shape and give or take on the color makes them non arousing in my book.

Retroculus xinguensis <---its been done, although I've not kept them myself, I do like them.

Platycephalus indicus <----done it a few times, will again soon maybe, and they are sensitive when first imported. George still has his, which is probably 7 years old now, but most people end up killilng them.

Planiloricaria cryptodon its pretty cool...

Jeremy, you have a very broad spectrum in taste for fish...haha

Variety is the spice of life. :)

I was just throwing some of those out there as suggestions, some of them would just be cool to see ya get them in period. I know some of these fish have been brought in before, a lot of them by you. Would be nice to see some of them in the hobby again though.

As for Crenicichla. . . .Crenicichla zebrina, Crenicichla rosemarie, and any of the Rio Negro/Rio Trombetas lents and marms. There are so many areas though that are producing new species of pikes, its crazy. Crenicichla hadrostigma has been imported before, but they are such a cool looking pike, its worth it. LoL

Dang, I would've thought the Hassar cats would have sold faster. :( So much cooler than cories and stay smaller than a foot. PERFECT larger community fish.

Tometes trilobetes ~ Pictures?

That would be awesome on either species of the Metynnis, or any other rarer characin. Always a treat to see what you bring in.

Biotoecus opercularis are pretty cool, have also been brought in a few times too. Its been a while though. I'm assuming you want fish that haven't been imported before? LoL! You've done them all man!

Whoa! They are captive breeding Aba Aba! Thats crazy awesome! I'd love to see that setup! Wow.

H. steindachneri is more of a specialized thing, I think there is only one 'breeding' pair here in the US, unless there have been more imported recently. Super rare cichlid, not really sure why either, you'd think they would be more common or easier to find. Kind of like C. beani I guess.

The Retroculus xinguensis are just freaking awesome. One of the coolest, and possibly the harder, cichlids to keep.

I'm hoping you get in some more of the Platycephalus, they just look way to awesome. I've always missed out each time you brought them in cuz I see it too late and they are all already sold.

Never even seen the Planiloricaria offered before, its quite probable they have been though. Cool lookin cats though.

Alright, here are a few more slightly more challenging ones. They might have been imported once or twice, but they are challenging at best to get.

Iranocichla hormuzensis

Alcolapia alcalicus

Pellona castelnaeana ~ Smaller specimens

Still lots of species of cichla that are yet to be seen in the hobby, at least here in the US. Bring some of those in, and I'm sure you'll have plenty of interest :)
