I know you said there are other fish out there besides Cichla, but someCichla orinocensis from the Rio Orinoco would be super awesome!
New species of Crenicichla. <---like what? Tigrinnum? celidochilus?
Species of Hassar catfish. <--they don't sell, I had to nearly flush them
Metynnis sp. Onigiri
Metynnis fasciatus ~ The REAL ones. <---yeah these are neat, I'm on the look out for rare characins, also Tometes trilobetes
Biotoecus opercularis <---pretty cool, but I'm not the person to bring them in probably.
Albino Aba Aba <--had a pied one, that died after a few months, I drowned it! I do like this fish, but they are also captive breeding them in Asia I believe, so we should see some come from the farms sooner or later....
Herichthys steindachneri <---think Seiichi had some in Japan right? It may be rare, but many of the fish in this genus are just so non descript, all with same body shape and give or take on the color makes them non arousing in my book.
Retroculus xinguensis <---its been done, although I've not kept them myself, I do like them.
Platycephalus indicus <----done it a few times, will again soon maybe, and they are sensitive when first imported. George still has his, which is probably 7 years old now, but most people end up killilng them.
Planiloricaria cryptodon its pretty cool...
