Eastern Painted Turtle Photo Shoot

You are so lucky to have so many interesting fauna just a few minutes away from your house:D

Great pics. The roofing shingles are heavy but not telling you anything you don't already know that will be a pain but worth it to remove them just do alittle every weekend.

Nothing beats a natural pond on the property. Imagine lots neat small snakes frequent it .

Very Nice Shots... living around that pond is awesome... the turtle is precious

Nice pond. I applaud your intentions of cleaning it up. tadpoles are a good sign to; frogs are a good indicator of reptiles.
One possible problem is the farm itself. You need to be concerned about pesticide, nitrate & phospourus runoff.

Thanks for the compliments everyone.

The pond is loaded with Spring Peeper and Green Frog tadpoles along with what I think are Spotted Salamander larvae.

The farm pond it gets it's water from is taken care of well and is up hill from the sheep/goat pasture that is next to it. It's a 1 acre pond if that. There are a lot of Canada Geese on it with offspring. The water that flows into this pond seems pretty clean.
