A reminder that none of the chemicals we use in aquarium are really approved for usage on fish destined for human consumption;

Other than that, have fun ;)

Chemicals for aquaculture are of different type and more expensive. Some unethical fish farms in Asia had being caught using aquarium chemicals on their stock and is a problem since some, mainly m. green, are known carcinogens. If you read the fine prints on some, it will clearly state not for use on food fish, and for use in ornamental fish only.

I would not eat the fish from my tanks because just think of all the chemicals you've put into your tank over the years it probably would give you cancer or who knows what, I rather eat the fish from the ocean with its mercury and Pcb and other good stuff

I could probably get allot more moneys worth of food selling 100s of $ of fish rather than eating a couple fillets...

I've always heard that Oscars are a good eating fish, one day I plan to raise up a couple w/o the use of aquarium meds and have a taste, heard the same about Giant Gourami too but since they cost ~$400AUD around here for a 3" fish its not worth it. I understand why people wouldn't want to eat a fish that they have come to view as a pet, but if it is bought as a food source to begin with it wouldn't bother me at all.
