You sound like an over demanding customer. Nobody here is a "Thursday or bust" type of customer. Especially with a 3 day lead time? Give me a break. If I was the seller $18 isn't worth the headache, or a special trip to the post office. Buying fish online, or on Ebay, isn't like buying a pair of jeans. The fish may not always be in the right condition to ship, or risky weather factor come in play. The seller probably tried to ship and failed but when your subsequent email was a threat with dispute and money back, bad communication is worse than no communication.

You are probably new at buying fish online because the seller is almost always the one dictating the ship date, with plenty of lead time, to ensure the fish get there safely, which should be the seller's number 1 priority. Plenty of times I have waited over a month before receiving my fish. You may request a ship date but it's never a do or die proposition. This should belong in the lessons learned section.

The guy have 2 negative ratings out of 9 transactions (3/10 if you include this one), and your opinion is that she is unreasonable? Were the other two people as well?

According to the OP, the seller said, "Sure, I'll ship it Wednesday."

So she assumed he would ship the day he said he would. How is that expecting too much?

You sound like a very gullible buyer, in my opinion. I've never had a fish arrive even a day later than I was told. And in this specific case, the seller never even let her know what was up.

Sad to say this happens all of the time with sketchy sellers. I fell victim to a seller on aqua-bid over a silver arowana---I had to take 3 days off of work waiting for a package that I had to track down to the sorting facility. The package was leaking and wasn't marked as live fish or fragile--no marks at all. I had to open the package with men in hazmat suits present:WHOA:!!!!! Needless to say the aro didn't make it and the seller refused to make it right.....Never pay with a money order outside of an auction + Never buy an aro from a vendor who sells only silvers and goldfish!!!!!! Since then I haven't seen the seller on aqua-bid..

Logic dictates you ask such question before making your bid/purchase. Not after you send off your money. So basically the outcome goes like this if he had said no. Again, you put him in a do or die predicament after parting with your cash.

1. Buyer bid and paid
2. Ask seller if product can send tomorrow
3. Seller said no way Jose
4. Ask for refund same day
5. Get dispute resolution the day after

Yeah, I can see a smooth transaction a mile ahead. Also, Buying a fish with $18 shipping overnight would constitute being a gullible buyer.

Give the guy a negative, he deserves every last trashing word of it. You both agreed a delivery date which he failed to meet with no explaination or excuse until he was emailed. That is just being a bad seller.
It wouldn't have taken him 2 minutes to send an email stating the fish are not fit for postage and offer a refund or ask if the buyer wanted to wait, which they then agree a 2nd delivery date.

If you are paying for delivery you have every right to dictate when an item is sent out unless it is in the listing that there is a possible wait of 2 days before postage after receiving payment (for example) or another condition which you agree to by completing the sale. You should always read listings carefully so you do not get caught out by the conditions of sale.
Every fish I buy online has a 24hr courier attached for the delivery option. If one of them failed to meet that 24hr mark then I expect a refund of my postage, you pay for it so you are not being unreasonable by expecting it. No communication on top of late delivery means I would seek a full refund, cancel the sale and trash his reputation on the feedback.

I asked the seller when he would be shipping the day after I paid for the item because someone needed to be present for when the package arrived. I asked him if there was any way I could have it by Thursday if possible, and explained it was a b-day gift. He said, "sure, I'll ship it Wednesday."

So, I assumed he would ship it Wednesday. Well, when you ship something, you are to put the information onto the item purchased so that not only do I know it's status, but that ebay knows the status as well. He never notified on the item purchased, or me.

My post office delivers my mail by 9am- Fedex is 930- and UPS is 9. I personally know the Fedex driver that delivers my area, and I called all 3 possible delivery methods, and no one had anything in the system. That is why I contacted the seller asking him if he had shipped it, or if I needed to dispute with him.

I gave him plenty of time to respond back to my message, as I didn't dispute it until after I was settled and home from work.

As fas as the $18 shipping- He's just over the NY border.. I am in PA- so of course shipping is going to be a little cheaper.

For Scorponok- when the dispute was replied to by the seller, he even stated that "fish got bit up, can't ship like that" so no, he did not try to ship it. And secondly, I have bought I would say close to 100 fish on ebay- even from as far California, and they arrive on time, with no issues. I've not ever had an issue with anything shipping until now. So please do not assume things until you know the facts.. We all know what Assume does...

Like I said before, it's the communication that made me so angry because it takes 5 minutes to let someone know what's going on. The guy had my phone number- he could have even called me to let me know what was up.

I will find the pleco that I intended to get, and life goes on.. I just didn't want anyone else to think he's a great deal and then get screwed over like I did.

I don't need to assume. After you give him a negative feedback we will know your Ebay handle and if you indeed has close to 100 fish transactions on Ebay.

Anyway, I emailed the seller told him there is someone whinny behind his back trying to ruin his business with her side of story, without due process. Maybe he will stop by and say hello.

Good for you! :) Too bad that the handle I buy my Koi from is not my handle I bought this fish from. I buy my fish typically from my fiance's handle which is ThatPondGuy. You will see a lot of fish purchases from KTTW- which is where I get my koi.

As far as you emailing the seller, who gives a crap? I am not whining. I did not bash or say anything wrong about the seller. I simply told the story. I have the emails I sent to him, and I've got the dispute response as well. I also have the email where he said he would ship it Wednesday.

Why is this such a big deal to you? I am not trying to ruin his "business"- he did that all on his own by not holding up to ebay policies. I am not the only one who had an issue, so this clearly is a seller issue.

Some people just don't know how to be nice...
