EBJD bloat? (video)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Any changes since you added the medicine.

Nope its still just at the top in the corner, hasn't really moved since i've been home, not even during / after the water change.

It's bloat does seem to have gotten slightly better...but its hard to tell. It staying at the top in the corner makes me think its really stressed, so I don't know if its getting better or not.

i understand... but one thing is true and factoral... that little guy is putting up a fight to get better... still hanging in there... and your doing everything you can ...

update please... and i hope it is a good one.

Was still at the top of the tank at 4am, and again when I woke up a few hours after that.

It's bloat doesn't look as bad as before (but that could also be wishful thinking). It still looks "fat", but doesn't seem to be bulging as much. Does still look really stressed at the top though.

and still has no appetite.

I'll probably do another water change at lunch.

thanks for update.. sounds like slow progress but progress... i will be watching

There should be plenty of oxygen. I've got 2 Emp400s that keep the surface fairly agitated, and a whisper 40 air pump hooked up to a sponge filter. Also, I have a koralia4 (1200gph powerhead) several inches below the surface, that also breaks the surface in some spots.

Plus factor in all the water changes ive done in the last week, I would think theres plenty of oxygen.

But....it staying at the top contradicts everything I just said :irked:

Last night I used my battery operated air pump (for emergencies) for a few minutes and put it fairly close to where the EBJD was hanging out. It's behavior didn't seem to change, and it actually looked a little spooked by it (its a loud air pump...). So I took it out after a couple minutes. But I do have an old air pump (not battery powered) that I could maybe setup while on lunch and see if that helps any by the time I get home tonight.

Maybe instead of doing a water change at lunch I'll just add an air pump...
