EBJD bloat? (video)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks...yeah I'm real glad the healthy one isn't taking advantage of the situation and bullying the bloated one.

Since I dosed Metrodanizole yesterday I'm going to wait until Tuesday to do water change(s) (and will likely be re-dosing epsom w/ the WCs). Though I'll probably get the epsom dosage back down to tank volume instead of the extra dosage thats in there now (currently dosed for 165g at the rate of 2 tablespoons per 10 gallons, still thinking about dosing a lil more epsom tonight).

edit: and I think I'm going to re-dose metrodanizole when I do the water change too.

these guys are so delicate in a way.. i want another one but i am afraid to go through it again.. your two look like they get along well.. did the other one eat normally etc..

Yeah the other EBJD is eating fine and seems healthy. Though its probably not too happy w/ me for not feeding it on Friday / Saturday ;)

I just did a 20g water change (replacing epsom and metronidzole that was removed).

Hows this for a change of events...now the bloated one is being the aggressive one. It's now back where it used to spend most of its time (near side of tank where the measuring tape is). and when the healthy EBJD comes over the bloated one has been 'convincing' him to stay away with a nip here and there.

I have to think this is a good sign...if it has the energy to be an ***hole...its probably not on its deathbed (i hope).

edit: Well the healthy one just chased it back to the other end of the tank....but I stand by my previous statement ;)

you sure take great videos.. the one being submissive is so submissive now it even loses its colors.. the one not feeling well just wants to be left alone.. i take it as a good sign too.. that he is fighting back.. i hope tommorrow a little better still..

This morning it was hanging out in the same spot it was when I woke up Sunday morning (near the top of the tank near a corner). I left the aquarium lights off, but when I turned the living room lights on it swam a lap or so around the tank and settled back where it just was.

So it doesn't look any worse than yesterday as far as I can tell. But I didn't turn the lights on to observe it (no time before work). But I'll take a closer look at lunch.

i am hoping for some good news..you deserve it ... alot of great effort on your part..

Thanks Liz.

It looked how it did yesterday/last night when I went home for lunch. So, hasn't gotten worse that I can tell. *knock on wood*

I did a quick 15g water change on my break (all I had time for) just for the heck of it. Didn't replace the epsom or metronidazole that was removed from the wc, but theres still 160g worth of epsom salt in the tank (at rate of 2 tablespoons per 10g). Might add another 20g dose of metronidazole tonight, or might just wait till tomorrow and re-dose full tank volume.

I'll post a video update tonight sometime.

okay thats not bad news.. at least no worse so actually good news.. i will look at video later

if the epsom salt has not worked by tonight then its probably not going to work so i would not add any more i would go a full dose of meds no reason to do small doses you should do a full treatment
