EBJD... Is it worth this much?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yep, sounds about right to me assuming it is good quality. I've sold 4" EBJD's for that before and I've given 4" EBJD's away before. Charging money for crappy fish is just not right in my opinion.

Get some pics so we can see what you are dealing with.

I recently traded in my 3.5-4" EBJD to my lfs. I got $60 store credit. He marked it for $100. It was sold in 2 days. I agree with what Nutcase said. If it looks good and has no defects, you may have just saved yourself the time and hassle of growing up a group to get the best ones.

A person just put me on to a store yesterday that had 5 nice EBs. Well I dicided it was worth a road trip to check them out. Well I was told they were 2.5" and when I got there they were 1" to 1.25" and they all had sunken bellies. Well I dicided for $50 I would pick the nice one that had no defects. I put him in a 75g with 4 Hoplo Cats. He colored right up and enjoys the activity of the Hoplos. I medicated him with Prazi-Pro last night and he seams to be eating like a pig today but still haven't seen him poo yet. $50 is a good price in Canada for a nice 1" EB I would pay double that for a 3"

If the fish cost less then the system did. You're doing something wrong imo ;) But seriousely, If you like the fish. Have the funds, are willing to put the effort in it's husbandry. Don't hesitate on the price. If it is indeed worth that amount of money to you, I would buy the fish. I would agree with posting a picture of the fish, and getting a few peoples advise as to the quality. If the thumbs up on health/physical looks. If you want the fish, Buy it.

Thanks for all of the input guys. I'll try to get a pic within the next few days (if the LFS hasn't sold him yet).

Westle, congrats on your new EBJD. I hope that he continues to do well and grows up nice for you :)
