What really scares me most is the thought of Ebola spreading to Mexico and southward. While we do (hopefully) have the resources to contain/limit Ebola outbreaks in the U.S. and Canada, Mexico may not. Most Central and South American countries do not.

I have to imagine they are working hard at developing a vaccine, hopefully they will have one before this disease goes global....

I can agree with that dan, having been to south of border Tijuana and the rest of the mex border towns and as far as San filepa(sp) and some others this could become issue with the influx on illegal aliens. This is not something I had thought of.

Even more scary....instead of suicide bombers, suicidal terrorists could infect themselves and cross over the border into the US.

well I not see that happening, but it gets into south america, again large 3 world population, that could be pretty nastie.

what's the difference between a wanton terrorist or illegal immigrant, and an exposed nurse or newscaster with blatant disregard for others, who go wandering out of "isolation" to get lunch or visit relatives in Ohio?
NOTHING.

again lets not forget the facts, this not an air born thing, there is not going to be a cloud of Ebola on the wind flowing into your window at night, or even 4 seats down on an air plane. ok, seats close lets go 6. but he will need to sneeze, Ebola is not an influenza, sneezing, coughing are not an symptom. it is not a respiratory infection. unlike influenza. and he needs to be suffering with it before he can infect. this means a fever 100 plus, they say 101.5 but that's semantics given the +/- error of the thermometer being used.

This is not good. Vinson called CDC to tell them that she wasn't feeling good and had a fever of 99.5. CDC confirmed that they gave her the green light to fly. And yet Frieden said she should not have got on the plane. CDC does not have their act together. I think a lot of the screw ups is happening in CDC starting with the leadership. This is no time to be botching things up, giving misinformation and wrong directives and then blaming the people working in the trenches getting sick.
