I read that they destroyed paper money in China. I asked my local bank if they sanitized the paper money. They don't. I am afraid for my mother handling money to pay the people who help her. Withdraw funds from the bank once a month. Hot water, soap, bleach. Rinse and dry then iron every bill. Tedious and time consuming, but I feel that it lowers risk to my mother.
Hello; I have changed my use of cash to a degree. The main thing I do is segregate cash I get back in change. I do not wash it but that is a good way to be sure. I did think about that. So far I have a sequence of places to put money. Say I get back home with change picked up that day. I put that money in a place by the door. I let it stay at that place for around a week. It then is moved to a different place. I have a third place for money that has been around for over a month now and that is what I pick up when I go out.
Your plan is better than mine for sure. I guess if I had to make a more simple disinfectant for money I would make or buy a UV (ultraviolet ) light box to put things like money in. The box would have to be made safe for our eyes.

I like cash and do not want it to go away. I just do not have much confidence in electronic money. Likely I will not have much choice.

My county was heading into phase 2 of opening till Friday when they found 24 cases at a fruit packaging plant.
On hold now for at least another week

Phase 2 would allow

High-risk populations: Continue to stay home, stay healthy.
Outdoor: All outdoor recreation involving fewer than five people outside your household (camping, beaches, etc.)
Gatherings: Gather with no more than five people outside your household per week.
Travel: Limited non-essential travel within proximity of your home.
Business/Employers: Remaining manufacturing, new construction, in-home/domestic services (nannies, housecleaning, etc.), retail (In-store purchases allowed with restrictions), real estate, professional services/office-based businesses (telework remains strongly encouraged), hair and nail salons/barbers, restaurants <50% capacity, with table sizes no larger than 5.

As of Friday all facilities employees are on quarantine that are on the list of those seen interacting to close to known folks with it. Seen being the eye in the sky. I work at casino if not known already, they see everything. opening date is the first. Soft opening to start, gold and black card holders only by invite, then gradually opening fully over the next week.

ATM I am only facilities manager that can come in to work. rest on the 29th and the 30th. I Am not a yakker and do not hang out yaking, either in my office or out in the field, its those folks that got quarantined. I have been working through out. large empty casino a creepy place. like the overlook hotel.

stay safe guys!!!

2nd wave ? The 1st one isnt over
Hello; Yes I see the distinction. The initial wave of infections is slowed in some places but still continues. I guess it is semantics to a degree but maybe the first wave has not paused enough to be over?

Folks, it just occurred to me that California has a marijuana business that will probably sell $5 billion legally this year, but the federal banking regulations prohibit transactions, and so this business is all done in cash.

Hello; The things I have been hearing is contracting the virus outdoors is a very low chance. The air can move the virus around and dilute it is one thing. The UV rays on a sunny day is another ( even some UV on a cloudy day) .
At least one information source stated that being in a small enclosed space with an infected person for a while is the more likely way to be infected without actually touching an infected person. Say you are riding around in a car with all the windows closed for a while, then you will have a better chance of breathing in enough virus to be infected

In Oregon, the green cross businesses have ATMs inside. There is at least one green cross "wellness" center that takes credit cards.

Same in Washington, can't use your cards to buy it, but there is an ATM in the store to get cash. Still all MJ business have to be all cash due to FED laws. Banks think Feds will prosecute on money laundering if they allow pos card use. So now all these pot shops have to pay taxes in cash.... nothing like going to the tax office with a cool million in cash....

We heard from the scientists on the same day that Trump told us to inject bleach into our veins to combat covid19, so may have gotten lost.
UV, heat and humidity were said to greatly shorten the live of the virus outside of a human host. I don't see the heat part working so well as we have spreed going on in hot parts of the world..?‍♂
