EB's 180 setup.

Looking good. How about giving the back pane a coat of black paint. It really looks sharp with PFS and hides any equipment you'll have running down the back of the tank
Absolutely. So much to do, so little time!

Doors are all done and I built a 2x4 pedestal for the tank to sit on because I didn't like the way it looked just sitting flat on the ground. Heaters also came in today. Now all I need is filtration and decoration for the tank.

The stand is done and in place. Now I just have to paint the back of the tank black. Does anyone have suggestions for sand for substrate?

I like pool filter sand, but you can use that black sand blasting sand too.

Well, 3m color quartz is what I'm really talking about.

I purchased some Quikcrete pool filter sand from Home Depot but the size of the granules seems way too small. I was looking for something a little more coarse

Go to a pool store and get pool fulter sand its heavier.

If you want something more natural looking try and get red flint sand it looks great kind of brown/black/maroon all mixed in.

The tank is finally up and cycling. Now I have to paint the trim. I went with a 50 bag of pool filter sand from Ace Hardware. Only problem is that both bulkheads leaked. Does anyone have any tips on properly plugging them so they don't leak? I was also contemplating going with a sump setup since the dollar per gallon sale is going on. Would a 20 gallon long be enough? How would you recommend setting up the compartments for the sump? Which size and brand pump would you suggest? Thanks for the help, Im getting really excited on this build!
