It looks a lot like a clown pleco to me, but I don't know that much about plecos. I just happen to have a clown pleco in one of my tanks, and it looks like that.

if you catch them on the glass snap a picture of it's underside sometimes mouth shape can be a big identifying trait

It's a plecostmus I went to the store where I got it and got a couple more for my 46 gallon bow front tank. It's the smaller ones that only get to about 12 inches

It's not a clown for sure it's a common but the smaller size one they are suppose to only get up to 12" or so here is a picture of the underside

I've never heard of a smaller sized common pleco. How long have you had it?
