The largest tank that I operated with a 2080 without any other filtration was a 180. Anything larger than that gets wet/dry filtration with a micron bag in the sump (and maybe the addition of a canister).
I'm not satisfied with any canister's ability to polish water in high waste environments whether it's a 2080, 2260/2, or any other. The final floss layer works in a similar fashion on all the models, but the 2080 has the addition of a prefilter that can be cleaned frequently. As long as I clean it, it works fine with no bypass. If I allow it to clog up mechancial filtration can suffer. The longer I go between cleaning intervals, the worse it gets. That's probably not unique to this brand though.
Basically, I just find the same results with most of the canisters. They are all bullet-proof in reliability.
I did see they have a modified Pro III coming out with some neat features. Definitely need to check that out! : )
