Eheim 2217 vs. XP3

I like Eheims. Easy to use,very quiet,and lots of room for media. I have 7, of various sizes. They all work great.
hate those thingsI don't know how the 2217 can run quite, I have an xp3 and 2 xp4's and can't hear any of them run. I never owned an eheim due to price but have nothing negative to say about the rena series.

Really? I didn't, sold three eheim canisters in order to just run the XP3s as my only type canister. Didn't notice a difference between any of them. Then again how quiet a filter is not really my main concern when selecting a filter.

I owned both and much preferred the XP3.
self priming, two outlet options that come with the unit, quick disconnects (my eheim didn't have these but I am told they do now) etc.
I had no noise issues with either. both about the same in terms of quietness.
