Eheim 2260 question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My 2250 was setup under a low tank and the output has some right degree turns, thought about turning the pump sideways but the rails that screw it to the base do not line up when i do this. Hard to tell from your picture but were u able to screw it down on both side? or just one?

?

The pump mounting plate is gray in color and slides into the grooves on the pump.

You need to remove the 4 phillips head screws that mount the gray pump plate to the green canister lid plate.
Use a rubber mallet to tap the gray pump plate towards the pump outlet port, you will have to rotate the outlet elbow so it will clear.
Now you can slide the gray pump plate back on the pump after determining the best orientation for your needs.
There is the possibility the green tab on the canister lid plate will interfere with the electric cord. I just cut the tab off with a hacksaw.

Does that help answer your question?

I have one and removed the pump completely and mounted that to the stand. I have PVC going from the top of the canister to the pump. Easy as that and saves a bunch of room. Best thing is of I want to upgrade to the 2262 I just need to buy the pump and switch. I can post pics when I get home tonight if you like?

Old thread bumped but a good one and YES! Please post pics. I am thinking of upgrading with my 2260's to 2262's soon. I have the pumps mounted up and hate it.

I could of sworn I read somewhere that its best to not upgrade the pump for example of my 2250 to a 2260 pump. Something about the canister being able to handle the encreased pressure. Anyone know? Or has tried this? Id love to up the flow of my 2250. And my tank sits low so I already had to turn the powerhead so the output isn't bent.

I tried that but both rails won't line up with pump of 2250 if I try to screw the screws in. So it been loose for about a week. Not too sure how I feel. About that. In the pic with the insulation it looks to be stable.

Is one rail screwed down or did u get both to screw in or its loos like mine is I guess the ultimate question I'm asking.

OOPS, I made an error in my last post above. The pump plate slides off toward the suction port, not the output port.

TakeNotes, what do you mean by the rails don't line up with the pump if you try to screw the screws in?

Can you post a pic of what you are talking about?

The pump is connected to the filter by 4 screws. 2 each side. When u remove the screws and remove the pump, you slide out the two brackets/rails that the screws go into to reconfigure them so they lay flat when the pump is on its side for clearance of the output hose.
Well when I remove my 2250 pump, slide the brackets out and put them on the now downward facing side, the holes for the pump to stabalize it to the filter do not line up correctly. The width and height of the pump are not equidistant. So my pump is hanging out not really screwed into anything, IMO that's no good. Will try posting pic tomorrow
