I am thinking about ordering the Eheim 2260 for my new 180.. Anyone have experience with these canisters.. Thanks

I have no experience with these canisters filters , But they must
be very good for being in the market for many years. :headbang2

But why not just get a Eheim 2262, It will give you more flow than the 2260
And put all your media in bags for easy rinsing when cleaning the filter.

I have a few of them and love them.

I have one and I love it. It is 20 years old and still working great! original motor too.

i have Eheim a 2260,2262 and a couple FX5's.the Eheims work great but im not sure the 2260's are sold anymore but i may be wrong.depending on the stock list a FX5 might be better fit but if a large stock list the 2262 would be far better due to media capacity.the 2260 is a great filter

These are "ggrrrreeeeaaaaatttttttt" filters!!! I have two of them on my 265 gallon. They are both +10years running strong. It is truly a chore to clean them, but, two to four times a year isn't that bad. The FX5 is much easier to clean (I have one of these on the 265 gallon as well).

Figure it like this. The FX5 you could clean easily enough when you get home from work (I've done this). The 2260(s)??? You'll only clean these on the weekend!!! Regardless of the cleaning headache, the 2260 is one heck of a great filter.
