For the pro 3 i use ehfi mech in the bottom and pro in the top two. Purigen works great i use it in all my tanks exceeds all other media by 500%,or that's what is states on the bottle. You do have to regenerate it every few months its easy , you should research it.

I love DR.FS, but i just paid much less for 10l of substrat pro from pet smart on line. The funny ting is i called my local pet smart and the head of the fish department had never herd of Eheim, not very pet smart.
