I have a couple Hydro V's that I'm pleased with for sponges.
Can you not get new motors for the AC's, or did they get so hot as to deform the mount to the body ???
Seems strange to hear that they burnt up like that. I've had sand get in the impellers before on some and lock 'em up, but not burn 'em up. :confused:

The motor/impeller cost is almost as much as a new filter. (unless I'm looking in the wrong place). I have a 110 filtered with 2 big hydro sponges and it's awesome. I may just go that route.

Yeah, I did some searching for AC parts, and found the motor+impeller+shipping = ~ $50.00. Everything AC has seemed to have gone up.
Don't know what the tank size is you need to filter, but the Hydro's do great for bio especially, not so much for mech. IMO
 
I'm looking to filter a couple of 25g tanks. I may just get stupid and make a wet/dry for them LOL
 
I have never had one quit on me. Yours looks like a bad apple.
 
I'll shoot them an email. This filter was not very old and was cleaned regularly.
 
Apparantly I have experience in them.

So says the customer lady who said "You helped me with the liberty filter, and sold me a sick fish that gave all my other fish Ich.."


Then I took her to the filter aisle and showed her PetSmart dosn't carry Eheim Liberty filters.

But she still swore it was me, and my sick fish.

Dumb people.
 
LOL! You got blamed for a filter killing fish that you don't sell? LOLOL
 
That takes skill! Selling her an item, and you don't even have them! I don't think Eheim liberty's have been in 2% of the LFS I've been in, and I know I've never seen one in a petco/petsmart/petland.

Hydro V's. Do you use the pond Hydro V's or the Aquarium ones?
