Eheim Pro 3 line

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Wow, those two smaller ones have some impressive media space. I hope they used good chips in those, I'd hate to see the chips go bad.

I know what you mean. When new cars are defective (recalled), it's most often a problem with electronics. You'd think computer chips have been around long enough, but they always want to use the newest and the best ...

For old schoolers, Eheim still offers their Classic line. I wished the car industry did the same ;)

ps
Eheim is making every possible effort to have the NEW EHEIM Pro3e available in North America before the end of the year. At this time no thermo version is projected for models 2076 and 2078.

I don't think the two smaller ones need a thermo... yet. The 2026 and 2028 should cover that without much problem.

I'm going to be getting a 2078 or 2076 soon. My LFS is bringing in 2 of each, and I will have first dibbs on them both. I probably will get the 2078 and trash a 404. Many things to consider for the upgrade on the new tank.

I'll put up a detailed review of both filters eventually. The 2078 is absolutely amazing, and puts the pro 1, 2 and 3 all to shame. I wish I could have 6 of them... :D As for pricing, talk to your LFS, and ask them if they can cut you a deal. Eheim is always running big deals on their filters at shows, but shops often leave their price and make some extra. The pro 3e series is currently on special for shops, as an incentive for them to bring them in to sell. The cost was cut back nearly $120 for the 2078 filters.

guess I'll ask a few about getting the 2078 then. only sellers are petco/smart but hopefully I can convince someone.
You don't have any privately owned LFS? Petco/petsmart won't have these filters yet... and likely won't have them any time soon.

The 2078 is great. Use it strictly for biological, with my FX5 for mechanical. I also like teh stream funtcion and it holds about 1.5-2L more then my Eheim 2229 Wet/ Dry.
