Eheim Sucks

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I agree the quality has deterioated. I beleive Eheim has been sold off. After that the quality has been poor.

Nothing called customer support what so ever.

Switched to Fluvals....much better :-)

everyone loves jager heaters...... just not me. i had one fail and i cannot go back to them. I also have turned into a fluval man. They arent the best but havent failed on me yet

Their filters are too expensive for me, but I used many many jagger heaters for a long time. The new ones do seem like poorer quality and the temp dial is never the right temperature. You have to fine tune the temp as in the instructions but it would be nice to have it already calibrated new out of the box!

Hey Ben don't trash those heaters. You can bring them to me so i can help you get replacement. I will write a complaint letter to Eheim for the failed heater I have. I have a 10 yrs jäger working great but new one quit working after 8 months. I don't have much experience with other model eheim canister but my eheim pro II 2028 seem to work good.

im assuming you have the newer heaters....they do suck. i bought 2 last year..and both of them didnt work. the old ones are a lot better.

Older is always better ;-)

OP, did you calibrate your heaters?

I'm not a fanboy, but while you've had experienced only one used ecco line filter, you bash the whole eheim product lines, "...I've had it with their products. Everyone speaks so highly of them, but all my experience with them has been one disappointment after another..." I don't think that's fair. Impeller doesn't last forever you know although my classics seem to last very long time.

4 out of my 5 eheim classic's were bought used because I trust their motors and like the overall simple design, and they're still running like a champ for 3 years+ with no replacement part yet.

I like the classic series canisters, but other than that I am not too keen on the products...

I feel for you. I have had damn near every brand of heater fail.

30 tanks and never found anything like a "functional heater". I am so ready to get out of the "tropical" fish hobby due to the insane pathetic worthless technology that goes into all of that junk it is a serious bummer.

You will probably see me go into a massive purge of hundreds of tropical fish within the next few months.

I do so love Gars, Bowfins, Sturgeons and the likes that do not require a heat source.

That is a lie, I do have one heater that has never failed.

After my waterbed blew, I removed th massive pad heater and built a outdoor pond in my deck overtop of it. Has never failed. Go figure!
