2080s are very good units, but you can't go wrong with Eheim. If you have a very large tank a 2260 or 2262 may be a better choice.

You can always tee a line off of the return for the UV.

ill take your word for it, will purchase the 2080 and run the UV seperately. I just hope any gunk/crap doesnt get stuck in the sterilizer...

Don't worry about that. The "gunk" will be filtered out first if you put the UV downstream of the filter. Just remember to tee it off so you can have a little slower flow through the UV.

i was gonna run them seperately. if i was to tee it off will the eheim provide the necessary parts when first purchasing? Or will I have to customize that on my own

You would have to customize that...

What kind of sharks? Please do not tell me iridescent!

Difference: 2080 sucks, 2262 is perfect. Again, I refer you to the MFK search function and my user name for details. That'll give you better info than I can summarize here.

Sorry to hear, have fun, but don't say you were not made aware of the 2080's crappy performance. Once you realize that it sucks on large tanks, you can still use it for a 75 gal or so (which is what I am doing).

ok i get it, your saying its hard to push some things.. was just gona buy the 2080 just to hook up my 18w TT sterilizer lol.... I really want to set up the sterilizer but i dont think itd be easy to hook it up to the fx5.. are there any other methods of hooking up my sterilizer? Everyone says canister or powerhead... I was thinking of using powerhead but didnt want any gunk flowing through..........

NO
