Yes - Bull Sharks are impractical for the vast majority of private shark aquarists. Hince the reason for the 10K price tag. Basically if you can afford to pay $10,000 for a shark - then you should also be able to afford a shark pond/tank that is more than 100,000 gallons to keep it in.

As for Short-tail Nurses - they are in the same family(Ginglymostomatidae-Nurse Sharks) as the Common Nurse & Tawny Nurse sharks. However they are much smaller than either of the other two species. The maximum record size for a Short-tailed Nurse is about 30 inches - and that was from a specimen that is known to be more than 30 years old.

even with arapaimag's 50k gallon tank, i wouldnt attempt one

Well it's not so much about the gallonage as the foot print.
And a bull pup this size could do well in a 15 to 18 foot pool
for quite some time.

Honestly as much as tank size and shape is important so is having
hours of time to watch swimming behavior and making sure it's feeding well
it's a lot of work.

Trust me I went through it with a black tip shark ( C.Limbatus).

With shark would you shy away from lemon or bull?

Where do I sign for the bully. He can go in the 6k pool till we build him something bigger. :D

The bull I impractical for some. But there are a couple of people here that can do it.
The bull shark is on the top of my list of sharks to own.
I would have bought this one but I have a deposit on one with someone else.
gonna switch the BUll to freshwater?

No, I don't have any plans to put it in freshwater. I don't really think that is practical.

And Fleshy, 6k is a starting point but the upgrade pool should be in the works before anyone even thinks about buying a bull.

krj is right. someone who is willing to spend that kind on money on a fish is most likely no screwing around.

Lastly I don't think bull sharks are for everyone. They are a lot of work and I think an aquarist has to have a genuine interest in the species to be successful rather then just wanting it for is bad ass reputation. IMo...They look a lot like a black tip reef as a pup (just a much heavier body) and most are better of staying with something like that for a pet shark.

ill take two bulls for my 30 gallon i figure if one sits towards the left side and the other towards the right they will be happy

(just kidding everyone)
