awesome stock list. I know nothing about keeping sharks but it was cool reading through all this and amazing people can actually own these beasts.

Just talked to a guy today that is putting a nurse in a 760 gallon tank ??? BTW did any of you know of Robert@cidiving.com in Hawaii? I have bought a few fish from him in the past, today I learned of his death coming up from a dive to fast, a shocker to me.

Wow, I can't believe I did not hear of this until now. Rob was always extremely friendly and easy to work with. He collected Golden Dwarf Moray's for me in the past. RIP Rob you will be missed.

I can't remember if I asked this before, on Fishbase this particular species gets "100cm long". Is that front to back or side to side? If the former then that is one BIG RAY.

I LOVE the odd batoids like guitarfish, skates and electrics (though I don't have any). Out of all of those though butterflies seem... less practical.

I doubt that Butterfly rays would be any more impractical than keeping a Nurse Shark, or Lemon Shark.

Yet these sharks are as available for to a private aquarist, all too often.

Depends on the species of butterfly ray you're keeping.

Captive breed chain catshark pups (Scyliorhinus retifer) $499.99

We are currently the only ones in the U.S collecting and breeding these sharks. This is because Chain catsharks are a deep water shark and are collected roughly 60miles off shore in depths ranging from 600-1200ft. We will have adults available for sale sometime this winter. Our chain catsharks are available at 55-75F.

Short tail nurse shark (Pseudoginglymostoma brevicaudatum) $1,000

We have only one of four short tail nurse sharks still up for sale. These nurse sharks are very special in that they only reach about 30" in length and may be the only ones in the U.S right now.
