Electric Blue Acara breeding questions

I have a breeding pair of acara as well they are crap parents. Convicts put them to shame in the parenting dept. The upside is the acara are not psychopathic and will not murder everything else in the tank when they breed.

Didn’t work. I’ll keep plugging away. They are good looking, interesting fish. I’d rather not steal the rock that eggs are on and hatch them myself. my old geophagus brasieliensis were great parents.

What didn't work?
 
Removing the fry. They didn’t make it through the night in a mesh fry container. They laid eggs again today.
 
Interesting. I’ll be following along as I too have eba eggs. Completely by accident. I was growing 4 out to select the nicest one and all of the sudden I found tons of eggs.
 
We will see how it goes. Might steal the egg-riddled rock and put it my 10 g tank with a Java fern or 2 And a sponge filter.

The fry are swimming. The parents both have scuffed up lips. They square off once in awhile over the fry. Haven’t seen this before. Maybe iwill Have a few make it this time. Seems like the mom is doing all the work.
