If i had an extra tank i would pick him up, very nice lookin fish though. Hard to just pass on it. I thought about putting up a divider in my tank too, but..idunno.
Looks like a hybrid to me. The lateral line coloration and background color are off for it to be a pure carpintis. Reading the title, I assumed it would be the "Escondido" variant of carpintis.

bred them myself and no they are not sterile they lay eggs and they hatch just feed the babies to other fish tho
