I would have to see them with ebjd fry to not get scamed. But Electric blues when big can go for close to $100 on their own. That with a Blue gene JD, the breeding isn't the problem. JD's are easy to breed, its getting the right genes you need and the ones caring the genes looking like a $2 regular jack dempsey. Nobody has an answer for you because its hard to judge a price. It depends on how much your willing to pay. I would think that a pair of JD's that produce EBJD fry would have to be worth over $100, seeings how their ebjd fry sell for $30-50 each.

Unrelated and they prouduce 25% EBJD fry, make a reasonable offer and see what he says. If he says no thats way to low then ask what he would take for them, bargin with the guy. I would offer maybe $80. Don't offer more than that and see what he says if you really want them. Thats good that they are unrelated, the EBJDs should be stronger. If he says the asking price is too low, ask what he will take for them, and go from there and use common sense/good judgement. Don't pay something crazy for them, they are becoming more and more common.

$80 is an insult. They are becoming more common but EB fry still sell easily for $15 each minimum. In most areas they go for $30 - $50.

You can lowball him if you want but if you really want them, I wouldn't. If I was the seller, I would completely ignore that kind of offer.

Personally, I would think somewhere in the ballpark of $250 for a proven, unrelated BGJD pair would be a fair price.

when their size do they stop having that much issues like eating problems etc?

Maybe not to somebody else. They arn't very hard to get anymore and they arn't hard to breed. Maybe 5 years ago they were worth $300,pay what you want, but $250 for a pair of ebjd now a days in my area is a ripoff, I see them literally all the time, all lfs in the area except petco or petsmart carry them. If you plan on making a profit I would see who will buy the fry off you, to see if you have takers. This is just my opinion, and of course some may want them more than others, and some sellers may not want to let them go enless the price is right. $80 may be low but $250 is way to much for a first offer to anybody.

Ah, I see. We are not talking the same language. If the selling is talking about a pair of EBJD, I agree with you. He is talking about a pair of unrelated BGJD. This is what is needed to breed EBJD and they are worth much more than $80.00.

Unrelated yes I can agree, the fry should be quite healthy but 5 years down the road, there will be even more breeders out there. The price on these is coming down, I just think its bad investment in the long run, enless there is a high demand in the area and a low amount available from a distributor. If thats the case he should go for it and make himself some a nice side fund.

5 Years? Do you know how many spawns he will have in 5 years? 1st spawn will pay for the pair easily even if bought at $250, the rest is gravy.
