Hey guys :)
I've been told to join this forum as you guys are more helpful and there are more Electric Blue Jack Dempseys overseas.

So I'm looking to try breeding in the next couple of months and I'm going to need all the help I can get .
So please say hi if you wanna be updated and give me any advise or help out :)

I really am at the very beginning of this. But I have done heaps of reading. I understand how the breeding works. But I have never bred anything before. (I know, I've picked a hard species to begin with)

At the moment I've got a 10cm male that I've had for about a year:

I absolutely adore him! I bought about 5 when they were about 2cm. All of them survived and I slowly sold off each of the smallest ones. And I was left with the biggest toughest one :)

Tha bubs at the beginning:

I'm pretty sure I've gotten lucky here and found a beautiful strain.
Which is why I want to breed as they are soo rare here! A lot of pet shop people don't even know what I'm on about.

So back to my project, I need a bigger tank before I find him a girlfriend.
I've already started looking for split genes though as they are so hard to find.

Anyway, I'll keep you updated and hopefully this is just some extra info out there for anyone who wants to learn :)

Could always breed him with a regular jack.

I just Bred 2 blue gene jack dempsey's and this was my first time breeding and i got 13 regular and 1 Electric blue i'm hoping i'll end up with more the next time they breed

nice jacks, if u do get a spawn mark me down for a order of 8

Thanks guys, yeah I could breed him with a regular jack. That's my backup plan. But I'd really like some baby ebjds and I don't think I'll get any of those from that. Thought I would only get regular and split genes...?

Even if you breed two EBJD's, you're probably going to get regular jacks for the most part. Depending on how inbred yours are.

Hey mate I'm from qld aswell , and also have a similar project... They usually have split genes for sale at nerang, its at petros corner I think it's called aquariums alive, the guys there are real nice and know heaps about electric blue jd's, I know its bit of a hike from the sunny coast but might be worth calling them maybe they could do freight .
Cheers Mat
