Electric Blue Jack Dempsey hybrid or not?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes, well like always it's all my fault. :)

You were the one pushing the hybrid theory and being quite rude about it.
Actually, NO! ... I'm the one leaning hybrid... RD said from the get go that he's been leaning pure.
Aqunero swears inconclusively BUT DARNED NEAR CLOSE! that they are 100% Not Hybrid.
Buphy swears they are pure hybrids!... Well I sorta get that drift if I use all his definitions:p. Lol... We know where you stand Buphy. You just seem to get the wording messed up a bit from time to time, just like me screwing up the results of EBJD × Wild with a 50/50 result!
This is always going to be a debate until the absolute truth is known. It needn't be turned into a heated debate Cichlidfish... after all... I don't see anyone holding my feet to the fire for any stance I've taken on this subject.
So please, put down the matches and state your opinion in the debate and kindly withhold about the debate. Otherwise it is debateable whether this is a good debate or not.:)
Thanks in advance
So what's your point?

The problem w/ the definition of hybrid in the hobby is if you get technical, everything is a hybrid. It's confusing enough w/ common names.

I must be confused on who is saying what lol. But I am just agreeing with you on the origin and how a EBJD is created. That's all. Sorry, didn't mean to offend anyone. I will leave.

Please stay... more for you to read and take with you.:):)

RD. Wrote...We are well aware that EBJD x Wild Type produces 50% EBJD & 50% BGJD.

My Bad.. much too late to edit my mistake so here's the corrected version:

We are well aware that EBJD x Wild Type produces 100% BGJD

I clicked on quote in my posting and clicked on reply and deleted everything but that line between the quotes.
RD never wrote the eror... I (ShadowP) did.

I think we can talk likelihoods .. the very fact ebjd are found as a percentage of wild and tank bred regular blue breedings, tank bred mixed jd and ebjd, and both parents ebjd strongly suggests it's a recessive gene colour form, everything is mutation so this will at some point have entered the genetic makeup as a mutation, ... in terms of hybrid the question would be ... is this a recent hybridisation in the hobby? - in which case I'd say no
