Electric Blue Jack Dempsey

I bought mine at 2inches, hes now 6inches. He is the most ravenous fish in my tank and doesnt even take crap from my GT. He bites my fingers during feedings, seems to think its HIS tank imstead of mine. I believe mine is an anomaly though, I their reputation is as being quite fragile

he still in a 10g? sounds like a good choice dive. I would love one myself but all my tanks taken atm, I do have a bunch of JD fry atm, perhaps one will be a EB?

No. I moved him to my 30 along with my other ebjd fry that is smaller than him. The transfer went well for him and I moved my dovii fry from the breeder net in my 30 to the 10 for now until the dovii gets a little size on him for my 120.

But op listen to everyone's advice on here. It will save you the headache and money on these type of fish. Good luck

I'm happy for the info on taking good care of these guys because I just came across two ebjd and I really need to learn more about them. They was given to me as a V Day gift from my kids mother.:D so now my question to you guys is...how often should I do a water change?

People on here might say once every other day or sometimes everyday. I do once a week. Works good for me. Plus, I don't over mine so that plays a part on how many water changes you do. I feed my frys once a day.

Why not give it a try? For all you know you may be very successful, and if you've kept Oscars and stuff before, I wouldnt class you as an amateur.

Take the plunge :)

I feed my JD fry twice a day , rest once a day except Saturday, i know there was a thread about using a test kit, if for nothing else pick one up and use it to see what your water change schedule should be. here is a pick of papa JD from yesterday, regular JD can be every bit as colorful as a EBJD. IMHO.
