He will eat brine shrimp sometimes but I have to literally stick it right in front of his face. I have a feeling he will eat smaller live fish but I haven't tried it yet.
I recently started a 40 gallon breeder tank with two convicts and the male just chases the female around all day. I stuck in a few of my bleeding heart tetras from another tank to try out as dither fish but they ended up chasing the bigger male convict and biting his tail so I took them out and put them back to the tank they originally lived in.
