Funny I was just about to post about this.... I posted a while back in hybrid section about this fish, seen him in person while picking up some other fish I like it better than ebjd's picture does no justice. Yes its a hybrid but an awesome fish with personality anyone else got pics... 250 a bit steep for me, would rather breed some but no space at the moment.
 
Its a hybrid. IMO does real jaguar cichlid harm by even existing.

If it gets into the hobby, and others breed it - it dilutes the pure jags out there. Amazing looking fish, but a hybrid that I honestly hope is sterile.

How convenient that this is the last one - very typical that the price would be so high for "the last remaining one".

I would assume because a lot more people are going to want this out of a regular jag now. I think the jags from Honduras blow that thing out of the water.
 
Electric Blue Jaguar my arse!! That is NOT a Jag in any way shape or form. By hybridizing, it's become something completely different. The body shape is comepletely off....looks kind of like a vieja or something but def not a Jag. I don't like it. Shoulda posted here: Hybrids (1 Viewing)

That thing which they call a jag is likely one of the few that turned out that way. Many thousands were likely deformed and culled. That is the problem with breeding hybrids.
 
You all make valid points but the markings/spotting on the fins do closely resemble that of a Managuense, ofcourse blue instead of regular. I could see it potentially being a Jaguar hybrid.
