The day they were due to hatch I came home to find the male picking the decor clean where the eggs were. I was really upset because I thought he had eaten all the eggs and I couldn't find any fry. A couple days later I found the little pool of fry after the female moved them. Turned out the male had eaten the unhatched/unfertilized eggs after the first were born. I moved him to a 55 by himself and just let the female raise the fry. So yeah, you may be surprised in a few days. My advice is move the male out.
