:)Didn't think that fairs gave out goldfish anymore.
Last time I went to one they were giving out bunnies and baby iguanas as well (riddled with parasites and a dead one on the bottom of the cage I might add), I do live in the south tho.

I won three goldfish and a tadpole from a fair once, kept them in a 7 gallon round bowl...until my parents cats got in there and ate all of them...but the tadpole, he just wouldn't turn into a frog so we put him in a river.

Eh, it's ok, when I won a baby iguana from the fair my mum shook the box really hard and killed it because she didn't want me to have it.
My cousin kept the goldfish she won at the fair in the cup it came in for the longest time, fed it the whole can of food at once, went to clean the water after three months and found a rotten fish. Her mum blamed me because I didn't make her give me the fish when she won it. Even though when I offered to take it and put it with mine, she freaked out on me.

People just don't respect goldfish anymore...I remember when having them was the coolest thing ever.

Feeder goldfish (what most carnival goldfish are) grow into some awesome looking fish. My dad and I stocked our goldfish pond a few years ago with feeders since they were cheaper than the other goldfish that the LFS had; we ended up getting a fantail, a few comets, a koi or two, and a bunch of other awesome goldfish out of the deal lol :D. All of them are still alive and well today, too.

I usually hate goldfish besides the fancy ones like the ones with the bubble cheek, can't remember what these ones are called but they have that like brain looking thing on their head, and pop eyed goldfish. But that is a BEAUTIFUL fish!!!!!!!

I think you could have worded it differently......but no I agree and am glad you told him that he will need a bigger tank and adequate filtration; and dont let theyre jabs about the 180s price get to ya, Ive seen em that cheap used at garage sales ( a 150g and a 210g both for 175$) and a few times on craigslist.

Luckily this kid is now only keeping a dog, lol. He took horrible care of the Goldfish. It's a relief they are long dead. They started getting shriveled and deformed. They died in like, June... lol
