OK, I bought the tank and the stand from a good guy on Craigs list. Got the tank (125) all set up and it is cycling for a week now. I work from home and hear a crash!
I go out there in the living room and the left rear of the stand has collapsed dropping around 1-1.5 "!
Well nothing broke, but there was a splash!
I drained the tank (saved 30 gallons of water). I can get more cycled water from my 75 to help jump start the cycling once repairs are made.

MY MAIN QUESTION IS: has anyone had problems with this brand of stand? Do you have corporate contact info? I googled it and the only thing that comes up is their vendors.

Any tips on getting the tank cycled quicker (again!!!???)

a your stand made of particle board?

I would say spend $80 and build yourself a stand with 2x6
That is what I did

Forget about stocking and getting it cycled it for now
Make sure it's on a stable stand

Not particle board! Solid wood. Sturdy too. Point of weakness is at the bottom. That side was not braced correctly! I guess the aquarium could take the 130# of rock...but not the stand!

CORRECTiON!!
Just found out the stand is a TopFin brand, which is owned by Petsmart!
If you ever have problems like this, call their toll free customer service and they will provide a remedy.

I will let y'all know when they call back. I told them I may have a couple of brand new Rena tubes broken and they were interested to hear of that. I am telling you, if the whole thing would have come tumbling down, I would be hitting them up for a new tank and reimbursement on all fish!~

Yes, all weight bearing portions are real wood...plywood at the minimum.
As you may guess, this was a little frightening, but at least everything is in tact.. I should be back in business this evening!

I have to back up 12Voltman on this...

Topfin made out of real "Plywood"...? I have 2 petsmarts near me and I am in there buying liquids mostly and I have looked at the stands....

I never saw one made out of plywood...

But hey...

I am a life insurance guy and I like it when I am wrong...!

Good luck...

mm

PS/ Metal stands... IMHO... rock!!!!
