Ocean and XO have hormone ingredients...im 100% sure... I know a breeder in Thailand he uses X.O. on his FH...he admits himself they have HIGH hormone in them... not suitable for all FH..since hormone can effect LONG TERM health a LOT...

and hole in the head? did you mostly feed him raw protein foods like shrimp? live foods etc? I would mix it up a bit with Vegetable pellets or some peas... goodluck though... my FH has been inactive also for the last couple of weeks, when I threw in food he would not eat STRAIGHT away, but yes eventually he would...

X.O. is a big no no.

u r wrong when u say that..i hav been keeping flowerhorn for a while now..ocean free xo pellets have worked well with all my flowerhorn..anyway i am quite familiar with bangkok and know for fact that many of the breeders there..atleast the ones i am familiar with feed their flowerhorn these pellets..they do not cause any damage to health..they are quite popular in asia..and anyway as far as i know, hole in the head has a different cause altogether

hey RD this is my first FH i really dont know how much big he will grow he grown broder of around 3" i am living in a small room i cant keep a big tank there pls help me to cure him afer curing him i will sell him

You wanna know what was wrong with your fh? The above quote. You need to learn about what you're doing rather than willy nilly owning a fish that you don't understand. It's pretty sad that you've already gone out and bought another fh, especially considering the fact that you didn't properly care for your first one. I've said it to many others here before, and I'll say it again, to you: Get out of the hobby and stop owning fish. If you don't see the logic in that, atleast buy your new flowerhorn a proper tank.

Just realized that you mentioned you "live in a small room and can't get a bigger tank." There's your answer. Stop owning fish.

i am having gold fishes also and i am breeding them and they are fine only after i placed gravells in this guys tank the problem started with hole in head and it changed into huge disease and killed him another fish of 3" suffered with the white strinky feces problem not taking food i cured him with metro now he is fine he eats well i am a hobbiest of keeping fishes from past 7 years even i have grown oscars no problem araised with them he is the only guy i lost

If you've been in the hobby for over 7 years then you should know to do your research before throwing a flowerhorn in a 13 gallon tank. The smallest tank I've ever put a small fh in was a 55 gallon and that was just temporary. You are the problem, no amount of medication will save your fish. Fix the environment your fish is living in or you will lose your new one too. If you live in a small room and can't fit anything bigger than 13 gallons, buy fish that can live their entire life in 13 gallons, it's as simple as that.

If you live in a small room and can only have a 13 gallon tank, how are you breeding goldfish?

oing the breeding in my native where i am having 67 gallon tanks and even cement tanks also this 13 gallon tank is a temprory one while i am going to my native i will take them with me so it can live in a 67 gallon tank

Who told you this? 90% the food you feed in India and Asia to flowerhorns are BANNED in most countries, BECAUSE of the hormone these food use... and about XO pellets? Mate... one of my closest friends that live in Thailand, has a BREEDING BUSINESS of FH..and ONLY FH... he himself didn't want to sell me any, because he knew

1. BIG CHANCE CUSTOMS WILL CEASE and 2. He knew I did not want my FH to have hormone food...

If you search online, the most region of the world whose fish have Hole in the head, and all those diseases use the asian diet of X.O. super red and all that crap... Want QUALITY food? Try Grand Sumo...but in India its gonna cost you a fortune. Oh and im from Bangladesh, RIGHT next to India...so i know prety well about that side of the world.

Do you know what hormone food can do to your FH? X.O. is cheap mate, its a few bucks... do you even know the name of the company who makes X.O.? LOL is it even on the package? does it even state it has hormone? NO..it states nothing about that :) ..so when you take them to court, they will say "they did not claim it did not have hormone or other ingredients, thus...your fault"
