charcoal also removes the color !!
could you please elaborate on the charcoal in my 210 doing water changes takes forever so i dont like to do it every day to get the color out thanks

Tannins are nothing to really worry about.
As long as the PH is stables and consistant, no worries.
Fish live in the "blackwater" environment everywhere.
Just call it your "tea tank" 'til it clears.

When I added the last pieces of driftwood to my 55 I just added 2 packs of charcoal to each filter bag instead of just the usual one. It took about a week before the charcoal started removing the tannins faster than they were leeching out.

As stated before, monitor water quality, but it should be ok.

well everyone my aro just died

Wow... thats surprising. I am sorry for your loss but I have never heard of that from the wood. Did you rinse off the wood before you put it in the tank after purchase? There could have been some harmful dust or other pathogens on the wood to cause illness...

Yeah......WOW.
That is very suprising as those fish tend to like softer lower Ph water.
I can only guess the wood was tainted with something. Even though you removed it, there may have been enough in the water to kill the Aro.
You mentioned the O's were acting slow. I would start on an immediate major water change if you've not already started.
Hopefully you can save the rest.
Sorry for your loss.

all the rest of the fish are fine swimming around like nothing happened. its just so weird tested my ph and it was good. i just dont understand...

Not to sound like an arse, but a PH test will not reveal anything but PH.
Other toxins could potentially effect the PH test, but you won't know what or why.
If the others are "doing fine", then I guess it's up to you as far as a waterchange goes, but around here, an Aro with an egg sack hanging is 60 bucks. I'd be inclined to try and figure out what killed yours before you get another.
O's are typically more tolerant fishes than Aro's. They may or may not be adversely affected visually by whatever killed the Aro.

did you collect the wood yourself or buy it?

usually wood is kept on the lowest shelves in the LFS, especially big pieces. down there near the floor they get covered in dust, dirt, cleaning chemicals, and pesticides.
