Be careful with meds--if you decide to use--Catfish have a hard time with meds at full dose. Isolate-salt-water changes-raise temp a little(All good advice)..
Good luck,
Chris

Thanks. I already followed all those procedures carefully and made sure to disturb him as little as possible. I also made sure not to overdo it with the salt. Now it's just wait and see. I'm going to keep a close eye on him. I'll be periodically checking water levels and most definitely stay on top of the salt treatment. I wanted to ask though, why the rise in temp.? The water is currently at 82 degrees. That seems about fine to me but do you suggest otherwise?

Sounds like you are doing everything possible. Separation of the two was the most important. I hope the little guy makes it.

Thanks man. Yes, the biggest step was getting them separated. If I would have known that was going to occur, I would have never placed him in there. The Gar is always pretty peaceful and doesn't like to mess with his tank mates. I never thought that he would have struck at the TSN. Well, I'm doing everything I can to help him and hopefully he makes it out alright. I'll keep you guys updated.

Anyone want to answer what I previously asked?... ^ I'd appreciate it.

Btw, day 1 after the incident and he's still there holding up. I don't want to get ahead of myself but he seems pretty stable. I'm feeling pretty confident that he will make it out ok but then again idk that for sure. I did feed him a tiny piece of shrimp to see if he would eat and he definitely devoured it with no hesitation so at least that made me happy. Seems like a good sign.

82 degrees is fine. Sorry for my confusion on your temp--82 is perfect. Tsn's are tough as long as you don't over dose on meds or salt. Sounds like you are doing everything right.
Best of luck,
Chris

Ok cool. Thanks! I have been going real easy on the salt dosage that I put in there. So far we're already into day 3 and he seems pretty good. He's been holding up fine from what I can tell and is back to normal behavior and activity. He's got a monster appetite and has been eating well without any hesitation so that's good. It seems to me like he's going to recover just fine :)

So after about a week of doing everything possible to make sure my baby TSN would hopefully recover, I got home to a very sad sight... Yesterday when I got home from school I went to check up on him only to see him floating motionless... :( He didn't make it. I really thought he was going to but idk what happened. I did everything possible to keep him alive and to try and help him recover after the attack but it just wasn't enough. I was very sad to see that but I did all I could. I now learned my lesson and now know to be very cautious with the fish I mix. Regardless, thank you guys for the advice when I needed help.
