Well let me find on of my crappy pics.... I really want something to go on the part where the gravel is only about 1/2" to 1/4" below the surface. And if its hard to see in the pic thats the left side of the tank. Theres a ramp on the back wall that goes up to the land area.
I also wish they had somekind of moss that would grow on my back wall. I think when I get my powerhead to move the water and filter it the middle of next week i'll make it run down the back wall. Wonder if javamoss could be attached to it?
java moss could live in a area water runs over. how you would attach it at first i dont know. but if you background is real rock or porous the moss would eventually grow onto it.

My background is broken 12x12x1/2" slate tile and midnight black mortar between it. In one tank I have a pothos firmly rooted into the mortar.

I think that I could just glue some pieces of drift to the tank to slow and disperse the water. That would be a good place for java I think.

not really more then they can, its shouldnt be hard for you to grow in your setup tho.
it grows in marshes and ponds. it flowers.
also some types of bacopa, have psychoactive effects if injested, probably a stimulant type.

monnieri is supposed to be a cognition enhancer like ginko biloba, so dont plan on your frogs getting high off it. you could probably eat it, people do supposedly eat it as a supplement. also is a antioxidant.

Hairgrass and swords should work fine, they are normally emergent or riparian species in the wild. Bacopa is a good choice; creeping jenny is another option for something spreading.

You should be able to find duckweed in local ponds or swamps, or if you don't like collecting from the wild, from pond plant supply places. They'll usually give you a bunch for the asking; it's a nuisance for them. Be careful with duckweed, though, as it can be hard to get rid of once established. A slightly larger floater such as salvinia, red root floater, or frogbit would be more manageable.

I'm afraid that hairgrass would get matted down by the frogs. And I think that the swords might get to big. I might try some in the back though where it doesn't matter.

I really like the bacopa. Where could I get one of those floating plants?

Some swords are smaller than others. E. tenellus is a nice small grassy sword. As for the others, just post a want ad in the marketplace here; most people who have those plants have more than they need and would be willing to send you some for cheap.

Lol, okay.

I think I'll wait till I get my filter up and running and it seeded with some gravel from my existing tank.

For some reason theres a white film that looks oily in my water and it just hangs there. I need to get some filtration and movement going. I'm pretty sure its the toxins out of my frogs because when i walk in the room the stuff just pours out of them. They're not quite adjusted to living there yet I don't think. Hopefully in time they will be less stressed. Which is one of the reasons I want plants is to help them feel secure and blend in more.
