EMPEROR 400 - BAD START

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I recently got two empror 400s imported from USA to Australia for my 55 gallon... and this is how the start went:

Setup the tank....filled it with water (MANUALLY)... arrange all plants and drift wood...only to find out the... sunction line of the filter is to0 deep. And that is weird, since my tank is 52cm high (pretty tall for a average 55gallon.

If I chose not to use the long sunction part, I would have the non-extension part directly filtering the tank... (this might pull in smaller fish)... OR I could use a THIN saw to cut it to my size? Please advise.

*P.S. IF i do not use the proper LOOOONG outake, I won;t be able to use the small net type thing, that stops small or to big things getting pulled into the filter... please advise.

All that to blame the filter for a bad start?

You need some more fish keep experience.....

You need a bit more posts before you say that LOL... however, it was obviously a bad start, since I later found out I can actually adjust the filter without cutting anything ! Not sure, if you have half working filters in your tanks. I did call the manufacturers and it is a bad start especially when they themselves agree "missing parts possibilities have increased recently" ... very bad start indeed.

mmm oh well at least it works! let us know how they go, cant decided over these or fluval C4.

don't agree with your post count lol! guy down the road has been keeping fish for 30+ years, he cant even figure out how to setup an email account but he knows a bunch more about fish then most people. ;)
