After reviewing alot of sites about this HOB, this is definitly gonna be my next buy. Was just wondering how loud these are?

I am using a couple of Penguin 200's and they are quite noisy when the water is flowing.
 
Don't waste your money on a HOB that requires cartridge refills. Buy an Aquaclear 110!!!!

After owning an AC 110 I will never buy another brand HOB filter again!

What makes the aqua clear better than the rest? It would seem that it could be louder since it has a waterfall off the back.
 
I LOVE my emp. 400's! They are great for big bio loads.

My AC 110 is pretty dang quiet. The air pump on the tank is louder than it is.

The reason the AC 110 is so much better than the rest is that when my filter maintenance rolls around I don't have to go fork over $3-5 dollars for filter cartridges, which really adds up over time. I rinse out the sponge and biomedia and put it all back in.
 
If your water is topped off it isnt that loud at all. Also you can just go buy the Marineland cut to fit filter pad for 6 bucks and that will last you for a LONG time.
 
I have two 400's, and my friend has a handful...
We have no complaints

what he said..best hands down...more media options, quiet motor and good flowrate
