No not any kind of mushroom.. research those. some get huge and will actually eat a fish.

If you have a good liverock supply even though it's a 10 you can keep a lawnmower no problem. I've been doing it for awhile now. You can supplement with seaweed, algae and he keeps things clean. Its win win. However with zoos and mushrooms you might want to get power compact lighting.

Aye, that's true. I haven't come across those shrooms as of yet, though.

I dont think there are any saltwater turtles that you could actually keep in a home aquarium, but there are very nice looking brackish water turtles. Diamond Back Terrapins ( Malaclemys terrapin terrapin ) are very nice looking but require at bare min a 75 for a male and much larger for females and a HUGE tank would be required for a pair and very very very very clean brackish water to the tune of 1.012 to 1.018 and a pretty high pH I would say 7.8 or higher (some have had slight success with fresh water but I would strongly recommend only brackish) or else you will face shell rot and a slue of other skin and eye infections and that is not fun to watch a turtle go through. Also if you ever tried to keep a pair in fresh water they would probably NEVER breed for you. I kept a pair of eastern painted turtles in a 75 (they stay much smaller than terrapins and are full freshwater) up untill last year and I only got rid of them to make room for my 90 (that was sadly broken ). I plan on getting more turtles soon, they are very fun to keep and will quickly learn to recognize their owner. But keep in mine if you ever do get ANY species of semi aquatic turtle they are ALOT and I mean alot of work! They need huge filters, uva and uvb lights, vitamins, warm and very clean water, a well balanced yet varied diet and I would suggest water changes of no less than 50% once a week! Also if anyone ever gets a turtle please try to get captive bred! http://www.theturtlesource.com/ and http://www.turtlesale.com/ are both very good sites! I can personally vouch for the first as I bought 2 very healthy Chrysemys Picta Picta hatchlings from them!

the tank has a standard hood. would the light fit on it or would I have to get a new hood?

2 25s ought to be ok for shrooms. if you want to be able to add more complex reef animals and you purchase a new fixture like pcs (as someone else mentioned), you will probably want to go hoodless.

but have a glass top.........

Why? I've run mine without any glass top and I don't think lawnmowers are jumpers. I never had to worry about temperature issues and the only detriment was extra top-offs as the h20 evaporated quicker.

i actually have a 40 gallon not being used right now.... maybe i should do a lizard or turtle tank...
