My endlicheri is currently trying to swallow my smaller Senegalus as I type. My main concern is that the endlicheri will die trying to swallow this meal, and as the Senegalus is already dead. Part of me wants to let nature take its course but I do not want my endlicheri to suffocate trying to swallow and being to stubborn to give it up. Do I need to intervene or will he let go? 3 any insight would be much appreciated! The Endlicheri is 3.5'' max length the other Senegal was 2.5'' or so,he just looks too big to eat. I just got the endlicheri this week so I don't want to stress him out if avoidable.

It seems as though the den isn't to far in its mouth, I would gently try and create some resistance. Don't try and forcibly pull it out but gently try and grab the tail of the sen and raise it to the surface of the water. The endli should let go o be you get towards the top of the water, if it isn't to far in his mouth. Just be careful and try not to force anything

Ok just tried to get ahold of the prey tail and the endlicheri quickly took off swimming around the tank will they prey still in his mouth, seem pretty damn determined

Ironically I've had the Sen for a month and just got the endlicheri 3 days ago and he hadn't eaten until now, not for lack of being fed but not showing interest in blood worms, and brine shrimp.

I have been looking for an endlicheri for some time now and finally found one at Lfs, It would be a horrible blow to me personally to lose him, I'm fascinated by the species and this specimen is gorgeous in my eyes.

I would still try and get a stronger grip on the sen. Just be careful as you'd be surprised, the sen could probably still be alive.
