^ Spoken like a true MFKer

;o)

So what? just because I don't take out a second mortgage, & spend all summer indoors watching fish swim I'm not a true MFKer?
(Just given you a hard time. lol)
I'm a water baby thru & thru.
When it's warm, I fish, power boat, canoe, swim & combinations there of.
Anything to get wet or spend time near water.
Fish keeping is one part of the whole ball of wax.
Pisces is my astrological sign too, btw.

I'm like friggen aqua man over here, except I don't make love to whales. lol:banhim:

Ill try to make sure I have proper equipment setup , before I go for the fish I want.

I have an easier time spending money on equipment than fish. Equipments usually last longer than my fish.:D I cannot justify spending over $500 on a fish though. The problem I have with this is I cannot just get one fish.:grinno: Here is a list of my tank expense.

1200 150 acrylic tank rounded corner with black background
180 on supplies to build DIY
175 on Eheim 2028
150 on Eheim 2026

PETA will be all over you if you're caught making love to whales.

I think I probably spend at least five times as much on equipment as I do fish, maybe closer to ten times. I tend to buy fish under $15-$20 and for the most part they live quite a long time. Also, I've never traded in or sold a fish - When I get a pet I keep it for life.

abit of both... like someone else said.. If I wander into my LFS and find something I know I will have a hard time finding again.. I get it.. I worry about the upgrade later. because I know I can justify it. I like growing young fish up.. but not all fish get along well, even following the "general" dos and don't you'll run into fish who just won't play nice.. or don't fit w/ their tank-mates. I don't let go of alot of fish.. but if my babies grow up and play nice.. they get what they need. The ones that are odd-man out or tbh aren't in my "favorite" list get either traded in for other babies to grow and try or found a new spot in another tank... I get the fish I like.. then worry about the equipment for permanent long-term housing if they work out. But I'm much more likely to drop 100$ on equipment then 100$ on a fish... unless it's something I've been wanting for awhile.
